Science Communication Training Workshop

Europlanet RI Activity NA3 is running a science communication training workshop aimed at enabling planetary scientists to engage with lay audiences, either directly or through the media. Workshop sessions will include writing press releases, being interviewed and designing web pages. Other sessions will deal with presenting science to policy makers, and how the media cover science.

The workshop will be particularly useful for young planetary researchers who have little outreach and communication experience, and more experienced scientists who wish to refresh and enhance their skills. The trainers for this workshop will be provided by ESConet, the European Science Communication network – http://www.esconet.org/ - and participants will get access to training materials and workshop presentations.

Places are strictly limited to 30 participants. All Europlanet RI institutions are entitled and encouraged to send at least one participant, whose expenses will be funded by NA3 Outreach. Places not taken up will be offered to the wider planetary science community.
